25 Random Things that may or may not interest you about me (following in other bloggers footsteps)

1) i start listening to Christmas music in October and don't stop until January........sometimes i listen to it no matter what month it is, i love the season that much.
2) i prefer words over gifts any day.
3) i'm ridiculously double-jointed  and more people seem to notice than i'd like.
4) watermelon has been my fav food since i was a kid.
5) my spine has 3 titanium rods screwed and hooked into it due to having scoliosis surgery when i was 15.....i am still crooked and it still bugs me daily.
6) i used to have bad dreams after watching Macgyver as a kid.
7) i absolutely love netball and miss it like crazy when i'm not playing it.
8) i feel like barfing whenever people who are brushing their teeth try to have a conversation with me while they have toothpaste in their mouth.
9) i have a very real fear of bees, wasps, hornets.
10) ever since i became a Christian i have felt called to work with late teen/early 20's young women.
11) i used to HATE that people would call me Phoebe (from "Friends").....but i think i have finally learnt to embrace it and face the fact it's not going to stop.
12) i want to travel all around the world and experience every culture possible.
13) writing is one of my biggest forms of therapy and one of my biggest loves.
14) balls always manage to hit my head no matter where i am or where they are.
15) i get teary whenever i see someone who looks even remotely lonely.
16) many of my closest friends have been my friends for over 14years.
17) i got fired from working at Foodtown (supermarket) when i was in high school.
18) i played the flute when i was about 12 for an orchestra that was supposed to do this big performance thing but i got kicked out of it for never concentrating or "being focused"
19) i have been to 6 different countries (australia, rarotonga, philippines, thailand, USA, canada)
20) i was the body-double for Aphrodite on Xena Warrior Princess and also for a main actress in an american TV film and did lots of extra's work on many different programmes.
21) i danced for 18yrs.
22) i used to play the keyboard and i really wish i'd kept it up......i also used to play the recorder hardout but don't wish so much that i kept that up.
23) we used to have a German Shepherd dog called Max.
24) my brother and i went to a country school for a year or so when i was in primary (which i was not the most favourite kid at) and we got given ducklings to look after which we called Daffy and Dynamo.
25) since my car accident i have definitely become a backseat passenger.

Two days of giving thanks and celebrating.  Loved every minute of it.  This is so what i love to do more than anything else.

I stole that quote off my lovely friend Whitney's facebook page.  I love it.

Tomorrow is Canada Thanksgiving Day.  I LOOOOVVEEE this celebration.  I have a dinner tonight with a heap of different people with the family i live with.  And tomorrow i have another dinner/party night with Whitney and all her beautiful family and friends.

I have SO much to be thankful for.   I wish NZ celebrated this day too......
I'm thankful to be here, knowing it's where I'm meant to be and it was so the right thing for me to do.  I'm thankful to have made it through the last two years and endured it all...knowing i'm changing for the better and those events have only (hopefully) made me stronger.
I'm thankful for the huge amount of good, inspirational, genuine people i have in my life - all over the world.  I seriously do not know how i managed to get such amazing people in my life......and they just keep coming...more and more of them.

This is weird to say in such a way, i know, but I'm thankful for my hands that i express so much with, for my feet and legs that take me the places i need to go, for my eyes that give me sight and let me see God's creation, for my ears that get to hear songs and sounds of laughter so often, for my nose that takes in many different scents.
I'm thankful for a fully functional, working body!  After all the injuries and operations and things that i've faced....i'm thankful it all still works and is healthy!  Maybe one day i'll even be really thankful for my crookedness and let that be a reminder to me of the imperfect perfection all around me.  


But mostly, I am thankful that i know Jesus.....and to Him i owe my everything for all He blesses me with and puts up with from me.

yikes this blog is a bit deep. for those of you that know me....you know that writing is my biggest therapy ....so you won't judge me too much. haha.

for those of you who have been asking....

καθαρός is the meaning of my name in Greek.  The meaning of my name being 'pure'......something that i fail miserably at representing......but a word that means so much to me.

I think that there is something really significant and special to the meaning behind a person's name and i love that mine means something so beautiful......even if i do not represent that beauty even the slightest.

καθαρός is kinda a thing between me and God and the journey i have travelled with Him to get to this place of embracing such a word. And that is why it is so dear to me.  

I have been thinking about getting it inked on me...but i'm a little nervous to take that step yet.
